INSTALLATION AND ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS.
The required tools to complete the entire assembly are a razor blade, pair of pliers and an electric screwdriver with a Philips head bit.
We also recommend that you use a flat dolly to make the movement of the shipping box & Funnel easier. You will also need some window (glass) cleaner (without bleach) and paper towels to clean the Funnel off after installation.
Large Funnel:
The first step is to move the shipping box
containing the new Funnel to the specific area that you are planning to place it.
Once you have done this we recommend that you turn the box upside down, take out all three plastic parts (that make up the base) and leave the Funnel in the box. There will be dust and residue on the parts and Funnel due to the manufacturing process you will need to wipe them off as soon as the unit is put completely together.
Take a close look at the parts that make up your Funnel Package. Part A The Funnel Part B Top half of Base Part C Bottom half of Base (has the logo on it)
Part D Floor Plate (round piece with coin ramp) Part E Coin Drawer with cam locks (large funnel only) Part F
Coin Launchers not shown in drawing (optional equipment) Part G Screws
8 Philips head screws silver in color 4 Long Screws w/ Tamper Proof head (1¼ inch in length)
8 Short Screws w/ Tamper Proof head (3/4 inch in length) 4 Machine Screws w/ Philips head and large washers and locking washers (for attaching the coin launchers)
Note: You will also find three (3) sets of keys that fit the cam locks. You will also have a special “Key Bit” that fits the Tamper Proof screws.
We provide the Tamper Proof Screws and Bit with each order for an additional cost. We feel these are necessary items to having a secure tamper resistant unit.
Large Funnel Instructions:
Step 1: Put the
Floor Plate (Part D) on the floor where you have decided to place the Funnel unit.
This unit will have the Coin Drawer (Part E) attached with one Philips screw holding it into place for shipping purposes; take this screw out and throw away. All Keys, Screws and Coin Launchers will be inside plastic bubble rap and included in the Coin Drawer.
Step 2: Remove the Coin Drawer from the Floor Plate. Insert all keys inside cam locks on the drawer. The cam lock may be “keyed” alike or may not be, this is for safety measures.
Step 3: Put Bottom
half of Base (Part C) on top of Floor Plate. You will need to line up the opening (which is for the coin drawer with the guides) A simple way to do this is to line up the screw hole in the Floor Plate with the screw hole
in the Bottom half of the Base. These holes are pre-drilled. Screw Part C and D to together using the 8 Tamper Proof Short Screws (Part G)
Step 4: Put the Top half of Base (Part B) on top of the Bottom half of
the Base.
Line up the guide holes (square cut outs) with each other, then look to make sure that the hole (this is the part the tip of the funnel will be going through) where the two pieces meet up is completely round, (you do not want to see a half moon round cut out, if you see this then rotate Part B to where the hole is completely round, this will line up the pre-drilled holes) line up the 8 pre-drilled holes in both pieces and use the 8 Philips head screws (silver) to attach part B&C together.
IMPORTANT: Use a lot of downward pressure on the Top half of Base (Part B), near the hole to make sure both pieces are snugly together.
After screwing in all the screws step back from the Funnel Base to make sure you cannot see light between both pieces. If you do then repeat Step 4.
Step
6: Remove the Funnel from the shipping box and set it on top of the complete base. Make sure the Funnel is overlapping one side so you can get underneath it to attach the Coin Launchers.
Attach the Coin
Launchers (Part F) to the Funnel surface with the Machine Screws (Part G) provided.
Use the Machine Screws (w/ Philips head) with large washers & locking washers to attach from the bottom side of the Funnel. You will need to make sure the large washer is against the Funnels bottom surface, then the lock washer, then the screw head. Tighten it snugly. Do not over tighten.
Note: It is important when attaching the Coin Launcher to point the ramp down toward the center hole so when a coin is rolled it does not
the hit the inside edge of the Funnel when it is rolled. Also, hold the Coin Launcher flat and snug against the Funnel top surface when attaching. You have to hold it snug against the Funnel surface the Coin Launchers are very
brittle at this stage of installation, they are more likely to break while installing then when already installed onto the Funnel. Again, make sure the Coin Launcher is snug against the Funnels surface, do not over
tighten. During the manufacturing process, the holes are drilled into the funnel. The holes for the Coin Launchers are bigger than they need to be in an effort to allow you to adjust them for optimum coin rolling
performance. You may need to drill an additional hole or drill out (widen the existing hole) in an effort to get the coins to roll properly.
Step
7: After attaching the Coin Launchers on both sides, insert the Funnel into the center hole of the assembled base and turn the Funnel to line up the Coin Launchers with the logo Hyperbolic Funnel Logo, which is already,
applied on the Bottom half of the Base.
IMPORTANT: At this point it is important to make sure the Funnel is exactly in the middle of
the base; you can do this by touch. Just go around the Funnel feeling underneath it to make sure it feels evenly placed in the Top half of the Base.
Step
8: Use the 4 pre-drilled holes in the Funnel and screw in the Long Tamper Proof Screws into the top of Part B.
You will need to use the white spacers which go between the Funnel and the plastic Part B, and you will need to place onto the screw the stainless steel washers w/ rubber on one side. Once you have placed the white spacer in place, and attached the washer w/ rubber you can screw into Part B.
Note: Top half of the Base is not pre-drilled therefore you will need to apply a little force when using the screws.
Once you feel the screw takes hold of the plastic, in the Top of the Base, turn the screw until it is flush (snug) with the Funnels outer surface. If you cannot get the screws to take hold, you may need to drill through the hole in the Funnel into the plastic of Part B, then screw in the long Tamper Proof Screws.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN THE SCREWS TO TIGHTLY; THIS CAN CRACK THE FUNNEL.
Also, when attaching the Funnel it is important to make sure that you screw at opposite sides of the Funnel. This will maintain the Funnel position in the center of the Top half of the Base. We advise you to screw in at 12 o’clock, then 6 o’clock, then 3 o’clock then 9 o’clock.
Step 6: Insert the Coin Drawer into hole in the Bottom half of the Base and lock it into place.
Step 7: Clean the unit with glass
cleaner removing all the dust, fiberglass fragments and shipping tape or glue.
Note: It is best to keep the glass cleaner inside the Funnel to make it easier to keep clean, just place it inside the coin drawer slot prior to closing and locking the drawer.
Note: Due to the manufacturing process, sometimes the Funnel will be discolored or have small imperfections in the surface.
This is normal. These parts are made of Fiberglas and they have a clear surface on them that will eventually wear off with use, thus making the Funnel uniformly the same color which will eventually be a consistent opaque color. Don’t be alarmed. Also, the Funnel usually works more optimally after it is used for a few months. We advise that once you install the Funnel, you use normal car wax to wax it down and then repeat this once every six months.
That’s it, now you are ready to start making money!
Medium & Small Funnels::
First step is to move the shipping box containing the new Funnel to the specific area that you are planning to place it. Open the box and remove the
Funnel and the base. The unit comes almost completely assembled. Usually the parts are inside the coin canister or taped to the top surface of the Funnel. There will be dust and residue on the parts and Funnel due
to the manufacturing process.
Take a close look at the parts that make up your Funnel Package.
Part A The Funnel Part B Coin Roller(s) (optional equipment) Part C Screws
2 Machine Screws with locking washers (for attaching the coin rollers and unit together) at one time.
1 Machine Screw (for attaching the funnel to the base only)
2 Short Machine Screws w/ Philips head (1¼ inches) attaching front hole of coin roller to funnel
Small & Medium Funnels are delivered pre-assembled!
Attaching Coin Launchers: Attach the Coin Launchers this is part of step one in that
you have already attached the back part of the Coin Launcher to the Funnel surface with the Machine Screws provided through the tubular base. Then attach the front of the Coin Launchers with the machine screws provided,
make sure the large washer is against the bottom of the Funnel then the lock washer. Attach from the underside. Tighten it snugly. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!
Note: It is important when attaching the coin rollers to point the ramp down toward the center hole so when a coin is rolled it does not the hit the inside edge of the Funnel
when it is rolled. Also, hold the Coin Launcher flat and snug against the Funnels top surface when attaching. THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT, MAKE SURE YOU HOLD THE COIN ROLLERS AT ALL TIMES WHEN ATTACHING, AGAINST THE TOP OF THE
FUNNEL SURFACE. The Coin Launchers are very brittle at this stage of installation, they are more likely to break while installing then when already installed onto the Funnel. Again, make sure you do not over tighten.
Close the door on the coin canister and lock it with a pad lock.
Keys and lock not provided. Four security reasons it is best that you purchase whichever one you desire. Clean the unit with glass cleaner removing all the dust, fiberglass fragments and shipping tape or glue.
Note: Due to the manufacturing process, sometimes the Funnel will be discolored or have small imperfections in the surface.
